How GDP Creates Poverty from the Illusion of Wealth

The best summary of the problem with GDP I have yet seen. This is rough reading but the point deserves hammering home: GDP is not a coherent metric and its use by global economic policy makers provides wealth for the wealthy by preserving poverty for vast numbers of people that are rendered invisible by the illusion. Should be required reading.
